Efektivitas Layanan Konseling Kelompok Dengan Teknik Dance Therapy Untuk Mengatasi Kecemasan Akademik Siswa di SMKN 2 Langsa

This research aims to test the effectiveness of group counseling services using Dance Therapy techniques in overcoming the academic anxiety of SMKN 2 Langsa students. Academic anxiety has become a serious concern in the world of education because of its significant impact on student learning achievement. The research method used is quantitative with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group design. The research sample consisted of 16 students who were divided into an experimental group and a control group, 8 students each. The experimental group received group counseling services using Dance Therapy techniques, while the control group received conventional group counseling services. Data collection uses a validated academic anxiety scale. The results of analysis using the Paired Samples T-Test showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores in the two groups (p < 0.05). The experimental group showed a greater reduction in academic anxiety scores (from 81.25 to 42.50) than the control group (from 75.00 to 55.13). These findings indicate that group counseling services using Dance Therapy techniques are effective in reducing the academic anxiety of SMKN 2 Langsa students. This research highlights the importance of implementing innovative techniques such as Dance Therapy in group counseling services to overcome academic anxiety problems in the school environment.
