Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of systematic desensitization techniques in group counseling to reduce learning anxiety of students at PGRI 1 Buduran Sidoarjo Middle School. With a one group pre-test post-test design model, this research uses quantitative research methods through Pre-Experimental Design. The measurement scale is the data collection method used in this research. The population in this study were class IX students of SMP PGRI 1 Buduran Sidoarjo who had learning anxiety. The results of the research show that group counseling using systematic desensitization techniques can reduce learning anxiety for students at PGRI 1 Buduran Sidoarjo Middle School. Based on the previous results and discussion, there were 6 students who had learning anxiety, this was seen from the results of the pre-test and post-test that had been given. The Wilcoxon test results show that Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.027. Because 0.027 is less than 0.05, the hypothesis is accepted. So that systematic desensitization techniques in group counseling are effective in reducing learning anxiety for students at PGRI 1 Buduran Sidoarjo Middle School.
