Abstract

This study aims to improve the emotional regulation of class X AKL 3 students of SMKN 1 Kudus through group guidance services with role playing  techniques. Adolescence is a complex developmental phase, where emotional instability is often experienced by students. The study was conducted in two cycles with eight students as subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and an emotional regulation assessment scale, which includes four aspects: emotional regulation strategies, goals, emotional response control, and acceptance of emotional responses. The results showed that the average score of students' emotional regulation increased from 65 (low category) in the pre-cycle to 72 (moderate category) in cycle I, and reached 80 (moderate category) in cycle II. Significant improvements were also seen in all four aspects of emotional regulation, with one student reaching the high category. In conclusion, group guidance services with role playing  techniques are effective in improving students' emotional regulation. This study recommends further development of guidance materials and implementation, as well as implementation of services at more optimal times, to improve the effectiveness of group guidance services.
