Abstract

This study aims to improve students' self-confidence through group guidance services using educational board game media. The background of this study is the low self-confidence of class X AKL 1 students of SMK Negeri 1 Kudus, which can be seen from their lack of self-confidence in expressing opinions, asking questions, and speaking in public. This study uses the Guidance and Counseling Action Research (PTBK) approach which is carried out in two cycles, with eight students as subjects selected based on the results of the initial self-confidence assessment. The instrument used is a self-confidence scale that covers six main aspects, including belief in one's own abilities, optimistic attitude, objective assessment, responsibility, rational thinking, and realistic expectations. Each cycle consists of three meetings using educational board games according to the service topic. The results showed an increase in the average score from the pre-cycle of 68 (low category), to 74 in cycle I (moderate category), and increased again to 84 in cycle II (high category). These results indicate that group guidance services with educational board game media can significantly improve students' self-confidence. In addition, this method also creates a fun, interactive learning atmosphere and supports students to be more active in expressing themselves and establishing social interactions. Thus, educational board game media can be an innovative alternative in implementing group guidance services in schools.
