ANALISIS WACANA KRITIS MODEL NORMAN FAIRLOUGH TEKS “AKSI KEJI KAKAK-ADIK DI KARO: CABULI BALITA LALU TIKAM AYAHNYA”

Abstract

The value of news cannot be separated from the interests of a particular community, so what is accepted by other communities is not a pure reality but a constructed reality. Therefore, the news content must be studied in terms of the text and the context surrounding it. This research aims to examine one of the news texts published by the online media detik.com in 2020 with the title "Abominable Action of Siblings in Karo: Abusing a Toddler Then Stabbing Her Father". Through the study of Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis theory, the news content will be concretely described in terms of language, text production practices, and the sociocultural practices behind the text. The analysis results show that the online media detik.com highlights the perpetrator as the subject of reporting through comparative diction. Sociocultural conditions influence a person's wrong actions.
