About the Journal

JURNAL SMART: Journal of English Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics was first published in 2015 as a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing research in English Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics. The journal provides a scholarly platform for researchers, academics, and practitioners to disseminate empirical studies, theoretical analyses, and innovative practices in language education.

In 2025, JURNAL SMART achieved SINTA 4 accreditation under the Decree of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) No. 10/C/C3/DT.05.00/2025. This accreditation reflects the journal’s commitment to maintaining academic quality, editorial integrity, and research contribution.

JURNAL SMART publishes two issues annually (January and August) and operates under a rigorous peer-review system to ensure the quality and originality of published manuscripts.

January Issue

August Issue

  • Submission Period: February – May

  • Review & Revision: April – June

  • Final Acceptance & Layout: July

Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts within the designated submission windows to ensure timely processing.

Manuscript Requirements:

  • Original and unpublished work.

  • Not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Written in clear academic English.

  • Follow APA 7th edition citation style.

  • Include abstract (150–200 words) and 3–5 keywords.

  • Maximum similarity index: 20% (excluding references).

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process.

JURNAL SMART provides immediate open access to its content. All published articles are freely available without subscription fees. The journal believes that open access supports wider dissemination of knowledge and increases academic impact.

Authors retain copyright of their work. By publishing in JURNAL SMART, authors grant the journal the right of first publication. Articles are distributed under a Creative Commons license as stated on the journal website.

JURNAL SMART adheres to international publication ethics standards based on COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.

Responsibilities of Authors:

  • Prevent publication misconduct.

  • Make decisions based solely on academic merit.

All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software.

  • Maximum acceptable similarity index: 20%.

  • Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned for revision or rejected.

  • Any confirmed case of plagiarism, data manipulation, or duplicate submission will result in immediate rejection and possible blacklisting.

Names, email addresses, and personal information entered into this journal site will be used exclusively for journal purposes and will not be shared with third parties.
