Abstract

Online learning, a dispersed educational system utilizing internet-based technologies, has become crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research explores the impact of English online learning on student interest, employing a descriptive qualitative approach. The study, focused on students from various educational levels, utilized interviews, observations, and questionnaires for data collection. Findings revealed challenges such as inadequate facilities, varying schedules, and inconsistent parental support. Some students found online learning superior, while others struggled with distractions and disinterest. Weak engagement and lack of focus were evident through students' tiredness, boredom, and nonchalant behavior during English lessons, highlighting the complexities and mixed outcomes of the online learning experience.
