Abstract

Breast milk (breast milk) is the main and best nutrient for babies because it contains nutrients that
are in accordance with the needs of growth and development and play a role in increasing the baby's
immunity. One of the problems that breastfeeding mothers often experience is not smooth milk
production. A non-pharmacological effort that can be made to increase breast milk production is
the consumption of black peppermint (black cumin). The purpose of writing this case study is to
determine the effectiveness of giving black beans on increasing breast milk production in
breastfeeding mothers in continuous midwifery care (Continuity of Care). The method used is a
descriptive research with a case study approach on breastfeeding mothers who experience low milk
production. The intervention was in the form of giving habbatussauda' for 4 consecutive days with
a dose of 4 capsules per day, namely 2 capsules in the morning and 2 capsules in the afternoon. The
results of the care showed an increase in breast milk production which was characterized by the
mother's breasts feeling full and tense, the baby breastfeeding strongly, the frequency of the baby's
urination increased, and the baby slept better. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the
administration of black peppermint is effective as a complementary therapy to help increase breast
milk production in breastfeeding mothers in Continuity of Care midwifery services
