Continuity Of Care (COC) is an effort to provide care in a continuous
manner starting from pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, newborns, and family planning. This care
aims to monitor the health of mothers and babies as an effort to reduce the maternal mortality rate
(MMR) and infant mortality rate (IMR) (Yuliana & Pertiwiwati, 2021). Management and monitoring
of labor pain, especially in the active phase of the first stage, is very important, as it determines whether
a mother can undergo normal delivery or if it must be concluded with an intervention due to
complications caused by severe pain (Hermawati, 2009). Various methods have been used to reduce
and eliminate labor pain, both pharmacologically and non- pharmacologically. One distraction
technique that can be used is the recitation of the Qur'an. The recitation of the Qur'an is a recording
of the Qur'an recited by a qori' (Purna, 2006). Sound can lower stress hormones, activate natural
endorphins, enhance feelings of relaxation, and divert attention from fear, anxiety, and tension,
improve the body's chemical system, thereby lowering blood pressure, slowing down breathing, heart
rate, pulse, and brain wave activity (Heru, 2008).
