This study analyzes Mufti Menk’s YouTube sermon “How to Control Anger from a Religious Perspective” using Appraisal Theory by Martin and White (2005), focusing on attitude, graduation, and engagement. Through qualitative critical discourse analysis of the transcript, the research reveals how Mufti Menk uses emotional and moral language, strong expressions, and metaphors to emphasize his message. He builds trust with his audience through informal, respectful, and friendly language. His approach makes listeners feel understood and encouraged to manage anger. The study shows that religious content on social media can be both emotionally resonant and educationally impactful.
