The data for the study was sourced through first-hand Nupe Speakers in physical and online interviews, and data was also obtained from journals, internet materials, and books. The analysis was conducted using qualitative, quantitative, and descriptive research designs. The study adopted Dell Hymes' SPEAKING in analysing 15 proverbs. It was discovered that in the face of modernity, Nupe proverbs preserve, beautify and sustain the language even now. The study, therefore, recommended that Nupe proverbs among the Nupe speakers should be encouraged in their communication since it is didactic, philosophical and epistemological.
