EXPRESSIVE ILLOCUTIONARY ACT FOUND IN LARRY WILMORE SPEECH AT HARVARD CLASS DAY 2023

The objectives of this research are to identify the expressive illocutionary acts used in the Larry Wilmore Speech at Harvard Class Day 2023 and categorize the most dominant expressive illocutionary acts in the speech. The descriptive qualitative method was employed in the research. The research’s data was collected from YouTube Harvard University. The result of this research founded 40 data of expressive that found. There are 15 data of thanking, 8 data of praising, 7 data of welcoming, 5 data of congratulating and 5 data of apologizing. Thanking is the dominant type of expressive that was founded in this speech.
